Multivariable Calculus and Partial Differential Equations is the final part of four in the Mathematical Analysis & Linear Algebra series, which together cover first-year mathematics at the technical college. Each part deals with a central theme (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and multivariable calculus), focusing on the solution of important classes of equations (scalar equations, ordinary differential equations, systems of linear equations and partial differential equations). Through a new approach, where the mathematical analysis is presented from scratch without shortcuts, a greater depth is reached than is normal in the mathematics literature for technical colleges. At the same time, students are given powerful tools to solve challenging problems by allowing algorithms, programming and applications to take their natural places in mathematics. This is possible by exploiting the strong link between mathematical analysis and computation, which reinforces the understanding of both algorithm and proof. At the same time, the ambition is to cover the essential part of the standard material established in the country's technical colleges. The book series is aimed at students and teachers at all the country's technical colleges who want an easy-to-read but thorough mathematics literature in Swedish, complete with solved exercise examples, problems and computer exercises.
