The heart and pride of Gothenburg, Sweden's most popular destination and one of the best amusement parks in Europe - that's Liseberg!

The lush oasis in the middle of the city has offered joy and euphoria for a hundred years, and in 2023 it's time to celebrate its anniversary. Liseberg is taking the opportunity to present a book that tells the park's proud history, decade by decade, starting with the Jubilee Exhibition in 1923.

Most Swedes have memories of Liseberg, perhaps in the form of a breathtaking ride in Svingoplan or FlumeRide or an unforgettable concert with Elton John, Sonya Hedenbratt or Håkan Hellström. In Liseberg: Joy together since 1923 we get to meet the artists and profiles, such as the park's founder Herman Lindholm, revue father Sten-Åke Cederhök, variety artist Carl-Einar Häckner and singing leader Lotta Engberg.

Lots of exciting photographs have been taken from the archives and supplemented with useful texts. There is everything from fast-paced carousel pictures and celebrity portraits to old posters and ride passes. The history of the amusement park is a roller coaster in itself and the playfully elegant book describes both peaks and valleys. Alongside the people, the music, the garden and the unique Liseberg buildings are highlighted, as well as of course the attractions - some successes, others flops.
